For the last couple of months, you heard able major natural disasters in the news lately. A bad hurricane in Puerto Rico, a powerful storm in Ireland, earthquakes in Mexico and massive fires in California.
Many businesses have been destroyed by these disasters. Now is the best time to setting up a business continuity plan. What is your business going to do if it is hit by a major natural disaster.
Some simple things that you can start doing is:
Get local backup options installed like external hard drives or NAS’s.
Start backing up your companies data to the cloud.
Migrate your company’s everyday services to the cloud, such as Office365 so your team can work at any location
Look into getting Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) so if the power goes out you can still run operations for a little while. For long term power outages like in Puerto Rico you need to look into generators and fuel storage.
